Mission Statement

The Oregon Engineering Challenge is dedicated to providing youth in Oregon with a positive engineering experience through design and problem-solving competitions. The OEC offers students an opportunity to learn critical skills necessary for a career in engineering through design, problem-solving, applied engineering, project management, and communication of their solution to an identified problem. Through their work with a mentor, students are exposed to the benefits of the field and how valuable engineering is to making the world a better place.  The goal of the OEC is to offer students a positive experience with engineering that fosters improved self-confidence and self-esteem and encourages them to continue in the field.
